#NaPoWriMo Day 6 Foreign Words

 #NaPoWriMo Day 6

Inspired by the poems from Poetry International.

Foreign Words...

Your soft spun words slip like mutton from my mouth

I speak and your starlit reflections turn to mud

With my voice your sounds distort and your echo is gone

Your softness is hardened, your sharpness now dull

Yet we are connected

You see what I see

We breathe the same air

as we dance on this Earth

So I will pause, breathe your breath,

place a hand on your heart

Feel your ecstacy,

your pain, your love and your World

Let's gather together and rise up on fire

with the gift of tongues

from each other's land
